On behalf of the San Antonio River Authority (SARA),
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is working to help recruit
applicants for the Mike Gonzales Memorial Internship, a paid summer
internship with SARA. Created in 1937, SARA is one of many river
authorities in Texas. Its jurisdiction includes all of Bexar, Wilson,
Karnes and Goliad counties.
The deadline for applications is Feb 27, 2017. Applicants must be current members of TCAFS:
· Students
can sign up (or renew) their TCAFS membership – for only $5.00 – by
February 27, and still be eligible. Please find TCAFS membership form
attached.

o Enrollment at an accredited college or university;
o Minimum 3.0 grade point average;
o Member of the Texas Chapter of the American Fisheries Society (please see above for how to join/renew);
o Provide 2 letters of recommendation;
o Provide a 500 word essay explaining your professional goals;
o Provide transcripts;
o Provide résumé.
· Housing is not provided.
