Wetland Plant Biologist

The Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences at Nicholls State University invites scientists with a Ph.D. and a strong background in wetland plant biology to apply for a tenure-track position (nine-month appointment) at the assistant professor level. Post-doctoral or academic experience with a proven record of publishing, teaching, obtaining grant funds and conducting intra- and extramural service associated with wetland plant biology is preferred. The anticipated start date for this position is August 2012.

Successful candidates will be expected to develop and maintain a nationally/internationally recognized and externally funded research program relevant to wetland plant biology, to direct undergraduate and M.S. students, conduct undergraduate instruction in general biology, develop an undergraduate and a graduate-level course related to their research, and to provide service to the department, college, university, and profession.
