The
Louisiana Environmental Health Association (LEHA) was conceived in
1947 by six charter members to address environmental issues in the
State of Louisiana. LEHA is also a state affiliate of the National
Health Association (NEHA).
LEHA’s
membership is made up of a varied group of people who study and/or
work in environmental protection and public health areas. The group
is presently made up of state agencies, industry, military services,
and consulting agencies in all areas of environmental management who
are dedicated to helping environmental health professionals meet
demands of effective control of environmental issues.
Every
other year, LEHA hosts a one-day conference to discuss environmental
topics. LEHA awards two educational scholarships each year to assist
outstanding students in the environmental and health fields. Two
$1,000.00 scholarships are awarded, one to an undergraduate and one
to a graduate student. LEHA’s scholarship award winners will be
presented at this Bi- annual Conference.
