CITGO Chemist Internship


CITGO Petroleum is currently seeking to hire a Chemist Intern to work in the CITGO Refinery in Lake Charles, LA.

Job Summary:
CITGO Petroleum Corporation, a Delaware corporation with headquarters in Houston, Texas, refines, markets, and transports gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, and other petroleum-based industrial products.  CITGO has more than 3,400 employees and is owned by PDV America, Inc., an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A., the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
CITGO owns and operates three highly complex crude oil refineries in Lake Charles, La., Lemont, Ill., and Corpus Christi, Tx.  The CITGO combined aggregate crude oil refining capacity of 749,000-bpd positions it as one of the largest refiners in the nation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:    
*   Assigned special projects in various laboratory areas with a term end presentation expected
*   In the second work term the student will be assigned more challenging projects
*   In the third work term, if applicable, in addition to more challenging projects, the student takes over monitoring a specific laboratory area
                                               
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
*    Full-time Chemistry student & completed 30 hours (SOPH, JR or SR)
*    GPA of 2.8 or above (A=4.0)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: * Valid Driver’s License
