RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
(RUMINANT NUTRITION)
WORK LOCATION: Iberia Research Station, LSU AgCenter, Jeanerette, Louisiana.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: A fiscal year, full-time position (100%) is available at the Iberia Research Station. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating, together with the faculty member, all activities
related to ruminant nutrition research conducted in the field and laboratory.Activities include field work (planting, fertilization, other farm related tasks), field data collection and laboratory analysis. Additional
responsibilities are assisting in management of animal and pasture resources and maintenance and care of laboratory space.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Animal Science, Agronomy or related discipline. Training and experience in beef and/or dairy cattle, pasture management and laboratory techniques are required. Applicant should possess the ability to work cooperatively with other professional
staff and to skillfully supervise support staff. Proficiency in quantitative methods and computer applications commonly used in the field of nutrition is desirable.
