Annual LSHR Scholarship Information

The Louisiana Society for Horticultural Research annually gives two scholarships to one graduate student and one undergraduate student. Details of scholarships are attached. Deadline is Feb 1^st of 2011 for the academic year- fall of 2011 and spring 2012. The LSHR board meets after Feb 1 to make scholarship selections.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANT

1. Applicant must be enrolled in a Louisiana College and/or University, at the Junior, Senior, or postgraduate level.

2. U. S. residency required.

3. Full-time student in good standing.

4. Horticulture, plant science, or closely related field of study.

5. Two (2) $1000 scholarships ($500 per semester) will be awarded annually, preferably one to a graduate student and one to an undergraduate.

6. Annual application required.

7. Two (2) letters of recommendation from current or former faculty member or professional in major field of study.

8. Submission of official transcript.
