Scientist/Engineer in Coastal Modeling

The Water Institute of the Gulf is an independent research-driven entity dedicated to advancing the understanding of coastal and deltaic systems and to the application of scientific and technological solutions.   The institute invites applicants for a Scientist or Engineer with strong H&H and Coastal Modeling background.  We specifically seek outstanding applicants with background in hydraulics, hydrology, and numerical modeling of Riverine and estuarine systems, and coastal wetlands.  Applicants must be proficient in the use and applications of numerical models to coastal watersystems, able to communicate efficiently with federal and state agencies, and can produce technical publications.  M.S. degree is required and Ph.D. degree is desirable. Familiarity with widely used numerical modeling packages is a plus.

The Water Institute is located in the downtown area of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  In collaboration with public, private and academic partners, The Water Institute of the Gulf studies coastal and deltaic systems to preserve and protect the U.S.’s Gulf Coast environment, a major source of natural and industrial resources, while developing and sharing cutting-edge technology with the goal of advancing water management efforts worldwide.
